Stelios Wanted By Pearce

It seems likely that Bolton will enter talks with Manchester City, if they are prepared to pay more than the £1 million that has been already offered.

Stuart Pearce (Man City manager) said, “Stelios is a player I like and he will benefit our squad.”

So it sounds like another offer will be on the table before too long as Mr Pearce went on to say, “Sam did tell me he does not want to sell him but they might have a rethink and hopefully it will be enough to get him out of the club.”

How much is enough? Only time will tell. Give it about two weeks before we find out.

Stelios has a contract with Bolton that will run out next summer so to sell now may be a good idea financially. However, the transfer window is closing at the end of this month (August) so will the extra dosh be of use for buying more players before then?

The Bolton Squad is looking a little diminished and Allardyce wants to, and needs to, buy more players so is selling an experienced player such as Stelios such a good idea?

[...] Despite interest from Manchester City and Liverpool in recent weeks, Stelios will be staying at The Reebok Stadium. Personally I think this is great news and Stelios is a player worth hanging on to. Allardyce did not want to get rid of Stelios, and is reported to be ‘delighted’. [...]
