Prematch – Allardyce Talks About the Zenit Game
Bolton boss Sam Allardyce is determined to get a good result tonight at The Reebok Stadium when Zenit St Petersburg visit for the UEFA Cup group match.
He said, “a win tonight would probably take us 70 per cent towards qualification and, if we can ensure that we’ve done that before we play Sevilla (at the Reebok on December 14) it could be very important for us.
“It would allow us to focus entirely on the Premiership rather than being under pressure to get qualification points.”
We will have to wait until tonight before we see for sure who makes a start for The Wanderers as it seem that Sam is choosing to play two different teams for The Prem and The UEFA Cup.
“I will put out a team capable of winning the game,” Allardyce said, “a team of players who have played at the highest level in their countries, if not for their countries.
“I think I now have a best 11 for the Premiership and a best 11 for the UEFA Cup. Both teams need different qualities and I believe we are blessed with both at the moment.”
It is promising to be a fantastic game.
