Vaz Te Demands a Start
Ricardo Vaz Te has been pestering Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce for a chance to be in the starting line-up. Tonight might be his lucky night when The Trotters take on Leicester City in the Carling Cup.
With El-Hadji Diouf suspended for tonight’s game Vaz Te will up against Borgetti who has complained about always being on the bench but both strikers will have to bear in mind that Kevin Davies is more likely to start as The Wanderers lone striker.
Sam said, “he [Vas Te] thinks he is better than Nakata, better than Stelios and better than El-Hadji Diouf. He thinks he is even better than Bestie. It’s nothing to criticise him about, but he has just go to be patient. He feels he should be playing in every game and he’s only 19.”
True Ricardo did score a wonderful equaliser against Guimaraes during Bolton’s last endeavours in the UEFA Cup earning BWFC a point, but like other players he must wait his turn. That is the nature of Allardyce’s expanding squad that allows players to be rotated. Vaz Te’s time will come but will Borgetti’s be first?
Ricardo commented on his hopes following his goal in Portugal.
“Perhaps this is the start of something for me. Being in the Premiership is where I want to be.
“I know I have to train hard and keep working if I want to achieve my ambition.
“I have been waiting for a long time to play. Perhaps I can get a few games, score a few goals and get my confidence back.
“It was better against Guimaraes. I got my chance and I was pleased to get that goal.
“All I want to do is play but it has been difficult. But I can understand why I’ve not been getting in the team as we have so many good players.”
Big Sam toad Vaz to ‘savour the moment’ following his super UEFA Cup goal, so it looks like Vaz will have to be content with being a spectator for a little while.
I have a feeling that Vaz Te will be whinging some more in the near future.
