Interest Shown for Jared and Jussi
Two of Bolton’s unhappy (Jussi Jaaskelainen and Jared Borgetti) players have the possibility of leaving their woes behind.
There is speculation about Trotters’ ‘keeper Jussi Jaaskelainen moving to The Riverside Stadium should Middlesbrough loose Mark Schwarzer to Portsmouth in the next few days. Schwarzer made a surprise request for transfer last Friday and it expected that new Pompey boss, Harry Redknapp will bid £2 million for the goalkeeper. Boro’ boss Steve McClaren would like to keep Mark he has already set his sights on Jussi as his replacement.
Jussi still has over a year left at Bolton but there is increasing tension between him and The Wanderers because of the unsigned contract stipulates that wages would go down should the club be relegated [correct me if I'm wrong].
Sam Allardyce’s explains:
“There’s a stand-off in terms of a certain legality of a contract other players have signed here,” said Allardyce. “In the end, we will do what we need to do.”
Meanwhile Mexican striker, Jared Borgetti, may be rescued from the sub’s bench by the mighty Portuguese club Benfinca. Borgetti joined The Wanderers last July and has since been frustrated not to have been picked for the starting 11 in any Premiership games, he has been a played substitute on seven occasions but failed to impress the boss. Having said that Jared has played and scored in The UEFA Cup competition and FA Cup but still feels that he should be playing more football in order to be given a chance to play for Mexico in this year’s World Cup finals.
Bolton manager Sam Allardyce has said that he is willing to let Borgetti go, but only for a fee and certainly not on loan. (Borgetti’s agent had suggested that he would be able to played back in Mexico for any of the teams as a loan player.)
