Sad Sam's Signing Slump
The transfer window has not been a total success so far for Bolton Wanderers boss Sam Allardyce.
With the news of two major hopes for the club ending without a signing (Ono and Meite) Sam reflects on the situation so far:
“We have no one coming in for us at the moment. Sadly, two deals have already broken down this week and we are not able to pursue them. We will continue to do what we can to try and strengthen but it is proving to be very difficult. It is frustrating but I can’t do anything about it.”
Sam continued by expressing his disappointment about Meite:
“From our point of view, we would have loved Meite to come and join us. If you are going to spend a lot of money in the transfer window and then be without a player for five to six weeks – due to international commitments – it is counter productive. That is the main reason why we pulled out in bringing him in.”
Not looking too good so far as there may be more players leaving than joining. No news about Jussi Jaaskelainen, nor any confirmation about Jay-Jay Okocha, Jared Borgetti or Ivan ‘Love God‘ Campo who have all been linked with a moves elsewhere recently – add Fabrice Fernandes, that make five players who future with The Wanderers is, at best, uncertain.
