Future Wanderers Manager?
Clubcall have reported that Iain Dowie could be Sam Allardyce’s replacement should Big Sam be called up to take over Sven Goran-Eriksson after this year’s Wolrd Cup.
Dowie is currently manager of Crystal Palace having already endured time managing Oldham Athletic and playing for Luton Town, West Ham, Southampton, QPR and Palace. He managed to get Palace into The Premiership, via the playoffs but failed to keep them their last season.
Sam Allardyce is just one of a whole list of possible future England managers, others include; Martin O’Neill, Alan Curbishley, Stuart Pearce, Guus Hidink, former England coach Terry Venables, Juventus coach Fabio Capello and Sir Trevor Brooking (who already works for The FA as Director of Football Development).
Martin O’Neill is said to be favoured by The FA and current polls but Sam Allardyce had been the bookies and fans favourite when speculation started.
Personally I think Dave Bassett is the obvious choice.
