Bolton Wanderers Transfer Summary (Part 2.5)
Borg Most Likely to Leave
With Racing Santander apparently continuing talks with Jared Borgetti and reports that interest from the Middle-East it looks like Borg’s career at Bolton is nearing its end. Al-Ittihad (Saudi Arabia) are willing to pay half-a-million for the Mexican striker.
Stovini Most Likely to Join
According to his agent, Lorenzo Stovini has become a likely candidate to join Bolton after leaving Seria A club Lecce. Although not commenting on the arrival of Stovini earlier in the week, Sam Allardyce had to admit that the former Roma and Reggina defender would be travelling to Bolton this week.
“Stovini is due in this week. Talks are on-going and I’m hopeful a deal can be concluded later this week. He is very experienced and should add more depth to the squad.”
Stovini’s agent, Giocondo Martorelli, told SkySports that Lorenzo would actually be signing an agreed 3 year deal before Allardyce could comment.
“Lorenzo Stovini will be in England probably on Tuesday evening.”
“It’s not a trial. There is already an agreement with the club, for three years. He will undergo medical checks.
“The guy wants to understand what type of environment there is and what type of impact he will have, and the club want to see him in action too.
“It’s a reciprocal thing. I think about three days will be enough. They want to see if he’s in good condition, Stovini wants to see what the environment is like.
“For this reason, I decided to not go with him. I know Bolton are hoping to take him to Valencia for their Spanish tour.”
“The negotiations have developed in the last 20 days. I don’t know how many times Bolton have looked for him.”
So another defender is likely to have signed as you read this, but where is the multimillion pound striker that will aid BWFC’s race for more European football?
Pro Polish
Jaroslaw Fojut and Blazej Augustyn, both defenders, have joined goalkeeper, Prezemyslaw Kazimiercza in becomming professional footballers by signing pro-contracts with Bolton Wanderers.
All three 18 year-olds came from Poland to join the Bolton Academy nearly three years ago and doubtlessly hope to follow in the steps of previous trainees who include Nolan, Vaz Te, and Joey O’Brien.
Pure Speculation
Bolton have been linked with Borussia Dortmund’s Delron Buckley even though the midfielder is likely to be loaned to Everton following his two week trial with The Toffees during which he played in four friendly games.
Dave Moyes (Everton’s manager) commented, “we are quite interested in what we have seen. We just need to consider if it is something we want at this time.”
Charlton are also said to be interested in the South African.
Murphy for £2m?
Former Liverpool midfielder Danny Murphy is set to leave White Hart Lane for £2m. Having lost three midfielders Sam may want to spend the money raised by selling Jaidi to Birmingham in order to provide more options in midfield. However, adding a striker to the squad is Big Sam’s main priority at the moment.
There has been a rumour about a bid for Manchester City’s Andrew Cole even though Stuart Pearce assured the defender that he would still be played in the first team despite an apparent replacement (Bernardo Corradi) being signed from Valencia.
