Away to Fulham
Fulham 1 – 1 Bolton Wanderers
Ground: Craven Cottage | Attendance: 18,559 | Referee: Alan Wiley
- [73] Diouf – Bolton
- [90] Bullard – Fulham
El-Hadji Diouf scored from the penalty spot after Gary Speed was judged to have been fouled by Fulham’s Luis Boa Morte late on in what was a fairly neutral and dull match up to then. As The Trotters looked to be earning themselves another three points Adboulaye Faye handed the home team a last minute equaliser when a Boa Morte header struck Faye on the arm.
It was a definate penalty this time and the resulting equaliser struck by Bullard meant that Bolton had to share the points reluctantly. The final result reflected the overall game well as neither side showed much flair when going forward leaving both goalkeepers with relatively little to do.
