An unfortunate result for The Trotters who were unlucky not to have earned at least point for their efforts. Nonetheless Mikel Arteta’s solo run and super goal was the highlight of the day despite former Evertonian Idan Tal going close from a free-kick that the wind carried to trouble Everton goalkeeper, Tim Howard.
Ivan Campo could have done better on a couple of occasions when he failed to header the ball on target. El-Hadji Diouf was unlucky too, especially when former Wanderer Alan Stubbs blocked his shot.
