Anelka to Retire (in Bolton)
Bolton’s top scorer has announced that he sees himself staying in Bolton until he retired from the game.
“I can see myself finishing my career here, why not?”
Why not indeed, Nakata did fairly recently, so why not the increasingly popular Frenchman. He went on to say:
“I have experienced a lot of things with clubs in different countries.
“I could settle here even though I have qualities to play for a bigger club.”
How patronizing is that? And modest too. He continued…
“I know that I can have one, two or three good seasons and bounce back with another club. But I can also stay at Bolton for the rest of my career and still play well.”
Like any other player, if you didn’t “play well” the supporters wouldn’t want you, nor will Big Sam. Keep scoring, keep fit and you’ll be more than welcome to stay at The Reebok I’m sure.
Could it be that Anelka has come to this decision because he would have think of another dodgy goal celebration [see photo].
What is that about anyway? Link thumbs and waggle your fingers. There are suggestion that it represents the ‘W’ of Wanderers, but I for one am no convinced that this is the case.
‘W’ for Wanderers or something else – you decide – add your theories and suggestions below via the comments form.
