£6m Bid For Content Diouf

Athletico Madrid are said to have made an offer of £6 million for Bolton’s El-Hadji Diouf. This offer may be tempting for the board of directors but, if accepted, Big Sam and the supporters will miss the Senegalese striker.

However Diouf is happy at The Reebok and has respect for his boss Sam Allardyce, as he told Radio Manchester:

“This is more than a football club. This is a family. Everyone is working hard. We want to surprise people.

“When I first said I was coming here [The Reebok], people laughed. Now they know why I came.

“Everyone here recognises my talent. I love people booing me, talking about me. The fans never boo a bad player. I excite the fans because I want to give my best.

“Sam brings the best out in me, I know if he thinks I am a bad boy, he will not talk to me. I am happy with the work I have to do for the team. I believe I am doing my job correctly.

“I am enjoying my life – I love playing football.”

Since Nicolas Anelka joined The Wanderers Diouf seems to have improved and become less selfish on the pitch. They definitely seem to have bonded well and if Nicolas stays for a couple of seasons alongside El-Hadji the future looks bright for The Trotters.

Just need to sort the defence out – which is an ongoing problem.
