Birmingham Bounce Bolton's Bruce Bid
Steve Bruce has an uncertain future with Birmingham City and Bolton have tried to rescue him but The Wandereres have been denied talks with The Blues manager.
Bruce commented:
“My first reaction was that they’ve seen the type of job I’ve done and would like permission to speak to me. That hasn’t been granted so I’ll accept that.”
A statement has been released by BCFC via their official website, it reads:
Birmingham City Football Club can confirm that they have received an approach from Bolton Wanderers seeking permission to speak to manager Steve Bruce in relation to the vacant manager’s position at Bolton Wanderers Football Club.
The Club has refused to give Bolton permission to talk to Steve Bruce as he is currently under contract with Birmingham City. We now consider the matter closed and will not make any further comment.

Bruce has been at Birmingham City for 6 years and has stated in the past that he would like to stay at St Andrew’s but that now depends on the decision of Carson Yeaung who is still negotiating a £50 million deal to buy the club.
Bruce told BBC Sport:
“I’ve 20 months to run, so I’ll just get on with it and see when the new people do eventually take over exactly what plans they’ve got. But I don’t think at the moment there is any talk of a further contract.”
By the time Bruce knows whether he is wanted at St Andrew’s or not Bolton Wanderers should have appointed a new permanent manager in place of temporary boss Archie Knox and finally find a replacement for Sammy Lee.
