Kevin Davies is a Happy Wanderer
Two former Wanderers, Sam Allardyce and Phil Brown, have tried to take Kevin Davies from The Reebok but Bolton boss Gary Megson refused on both occasions. (Possibly his two best transfer related decisions to date.) Thankfully, Davies didn’t mind either and has not made an attempt to leave Bolton Wanderers — he explains why.

“I hope that I can finish my career at Bolton. I am happy both on and off the pitch. It feels like home.
“I have two years left on my contract and unless the club want to sell me, I would be happy to stay here for the rest of my career.
“I like it at Bolton. There is always a challenge here. We have done well in the past getting into Europe and a cup final when people have written us off. I guess I love the underdog aspect of it all. Even now people will be writing us off again and I want to prove them wrong.”
Kevin seems to agree with Ricardo Gardner — Bolton need to recruit more players to have a more successful season.
“We are maybe a little light on numbers, but the manager is working hard to correct that. It would be great to get back into Europe and that has to be a target, but it is difficult now with teams like Manchester City spending a lot of money.”

Kevin Davies — Bolton Wanderers Manager?
You may have read that Kevin Davis spent some of the summer training towards a UEFA B Licence. This is the first step to getting a UEFA Pro License, which is a basic requirement to be a manager of a club in one of the top European leagues (Spain, Italy, France and so on).
Perhaps Kevin Davies will, one day, become manager of the team he is so passionate about. At only 32 years old, that day is surely a long way off — at least a decade — but I imagine it would be a popular choice.
When Marc Iles of The Bolton News posed the question Kevin replied:
“You never know. The gaffer might have something to say about that.
“There is something inside me that wants to go into management — I think I could do it. I’m coming towards the end of my career but I love playing, so I’ll play at whatever level I can for as long as I can. I love the game so I want to stay in it, so if I can get all my qualifications, who knows?”
