Nicky Hunt Out For Six Weeks

Nicky Hunt goes down injured at The ReebokBolton’s injury troubles worsen as Nicky Hunt has been ruled out for six weeks due to a hairline fracture in his left leg. Nicky limped off towards the end of Bolton’s win against Portsmouth at The Reebok at the weekend.

Sam Allardyce said, “I am deeply disappointed for Nicky, the injury was sustained in the closing minutes of the match, and he could well miss our next five matches.”

“The injury situation is a little worrying, and the squad is looking thin in key areas,” added Big Sam. “We’ll cope with the situation and should be okay for Thursday’s match in Bulgaria.”

So Hunt joins Campo in the broken bone department and both will miss this week’s away leg against Lokomotiv Plovdiv in the UEFA Cup.

Guess what Henrik, it is going to be a while before you’re playing up front again.

It’s not the first time Nicky has suffered this year. Back in January, during an FA Cup game, he was stretchered off after a disgraceful tackle by Oldham’s midfielder Lee Croft. It was feared then that Nicky had broken his leg, it wasn’t, but now it is and he will be missed as Bolton’s list of long-term injuries doubles.
