Derby Ram Phil Brown Out

Phil Brown in 1996 (Bolton Wanderers)Former Bolton Wanderers defender and assistant coach, Phil Brown, has been sacked by Derby County after serving just 7 months of his 3 year contract with the club.

The decision to let Brown go was made after The Rams were knocked out of the FA Cup by Colchester of League 1, this followed an embarrassing 6-1 defeat at Coventry.

Will Phil Brown make a return to The Wanderers? Allardyce looks to have missed out on signing new defenders so it depends on how desparate he is.

Seriously though, I am sure that Brown would be welcomed back at The Reebok to work behind the scenes coaching, working with the academy players perhaps.

There is an other ambition that Phil admitted to the BBC Radio Derby:

“I like Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin - the crooners! I fancy myself as one someday but not just yet, maybe in about 20 years time!”

Phil Brown and Sam AllardyceMaybe he won’t wait so long.

Could Brown be a choice for the next Bolton Manager if Sam leaves to manage England after The World Cup? Notice I said ‘a choice’ and remained netual about whether that would be a ‘good’ or bad’ choice.

Comments about Brown’s future welcome.
