SkySports : Bolton Set Up Elche Link

An interesting report about a new relationship between Bolton Wanderers FC and Elche CF of Spain. You’ve heard about twin-towns (Bolton’s being Le Mans and Paderborn), well this is like having a twin-team – maybe.

Quote from SkySports.com

Elche CF Badge

Bolton Wanderers have struck an agreement with Spanish side Elche that will see the two clubs work in partnership together.

The affiliation will mean the two clubs participate in player-swap deals as well as share each other’s tactical knowledge…

Ivan Stays!!

Ivan has signed for two years.

Full story on bwfc.co.uk : Campo Remains A Wanderer

I was waiting for a reply to an email that I sent to BWFC and 30 minutes later they annouce the good news on their website. Okay, so they didn’t give me an exclusive, but I like to think that I prompted the announcement on bwfc.co.uk.

Nice one Campo – glad you’re staying.

Update : July 1, 2006
It has been rumoured that two Spanish clubs, Real Mallorca and Real Sociedad, where set to approach Ivan Campo.

Also, with Ivan safely signed and still with The Trotters, Gordan Sharrock has concluded that the signing of Didi Hamann may not happen in his report, Campo deal derails Hamann move.

Campo’s Future?

Plastic model of Ivan CampoSome people have suggested that Ivan Campo has gone, but I’m not totally convinced. The players that we all know have gone, Fadiga, N’Gotty and so on have been removed from the squad list on Bolton Wanderers official website (bwfc.co.uk), but Campo remains.

So has he gone or has he and Allardyce managed to agree terms so Ivan stays at the club. Only time will tell.

More later… hopefully.
