Fortune to Smile Upon The Reebok

Quniton Fortune could be signing a deal with The Wanderers following his recent Allardyce-impressing sessions spent training with the rest of the squad.

The former Manchester United player joined the team in Bad Ragaz where they have been training intensely ahead of the new season next month.

Big Sam commented on the official website:

“I am hopeful that everything will go to plan and we will sign him on a permanent basis.

“Quinton Fortune, without any question, would be a top player for us if he stays fit. He has had a few injuries based on his record over the past two years. He has done himself a real favour by committing to our training regime to prove his fitness.”

Manchester City may still offer Quinton a contract so maybe that is why Allardyce’s brief comment was tinged with caution.

Is fortune any good, I haven’t seen him enough to know, but i got the impression he was like Geremi at Chelsea, pretty good, just not regular Premiership standard

By all accounts Quinton is a great player who usually plays in midfield (left/centre) but can adopt a more forward position or drop back in defence if needed. The only thing that has held him back at United are the injuries that he has suffered.

I’m finding it hard to figure out bolton’s tactics in the transfer market, as i see it right now we have excellent goalies in jussi and al habsi, strong defense in meite and tal, gardner is good and joey o brien should be good enough for most of next season, midfield we got nolan, stelios, and (maybe)fortune on the left, and some holding midfielders like faye, speed and campo competing, then up front just davies, and maybe diouf, but i’m starting to see him as more of a winger. will diouf be playing much, where does that leave vaz te (who must be a bit fed up now) pedersen, jaidi and borgetti and what striker can we get to partner davies who’s a natural goalscorer. i’d love saviola to come. theres not a lot of competition for places in most of the squad.
