Anelka Hopes of Return to Prem (Updated)

Nicolas Anelka claimed to be joining Bolton Wanderers yesterday telling the French sports paper L’Equipe:

“My wish is to return to the Premier League and it could materialise soon. I have an agreement with Bolton on the basis of a four-year contract. I hope everything will be finalised early next week.”

The has been speculation about Anelka joining The Trotters over the summer and Big Sam has promised three more signings before the end of August, so it could be the former French international and Arsenal striker, who is currently with Fenerbahçce and played with other top teams such as Real Madrid, Liverpool and Manchester City.

Istanbul Fenerbahce's French striker Nicolas AnelkaWhether Anelka will be joining The Wanderers or not is open to debate, but, if he does, he should prove to be beneficial to the club as he has a wealth of experience in topflight football and an obvious talent for the game. However, there he has the reputation of being a bit of a whinge-bucket which earned him the nicknames of ‘Le Sulk’ and ‘The Incredible Sulk’. Surely he will have matured by now and his temperament has become more professional and focused.

Le Sulk to sign? We shall see.
