Ben Haim Cack at International Level Too

Bolton Wanderers defender, Tal Ben Haim, was part of the team that somehow held England in a scoreless draw yesterday evening in Tel Aviv in the UEFA EURO 2008 qualifier.

Ben Haim, managed to get himself booked after a rash challenge on Rooney caused a slight ruckus in which Tal headbutted Wayne with little force. It was a wonder that Ben Haim wasn’t sent off as there were a number of less than professional tackles which equally could have seen the Israeli go into Tom Ovrebo’s little black book.

It’s a shame that Allardyce failed to agree terms with Chelsea in the January Transfer Window. At least there would have been some reward for getting rid of him, now Ben Haim will be at The Reebok until his contract runs out in summer.

Allardyce told the Bolton News recently: Read more…

Angry Allardyce Appalled

Allardyce, along with all Bolton fans, will be disgruntled with today’s performance at Old Trafford. Big Sam admitted his anger after the match:

“I can’t understand how we have conceded three goals from our dead-ball situations.

“We have to get the basics right and play the percentage game as we have not the same quality as them United.

“We have gifted Manchester United three goal. I am angry with us not doing those things right.”

Whereas, Urinals manager, Sir Alex Ferguson was more than happy with the result:

“I’m very pleased. It is a terrific result for us against a Bolton team which is a very good team and make you work all day.

“Four goals at home this time of year is great.”

It’s just a shame the Bolton didn’t make United ‘work all day’ – I would have settled for 90 minutes of pressure, but The Wanderers failed miserably.

Poll Result : Diouf’s Worth

BWFC24 asked, ‘how much is El-Hadji Diouf worth?’ and the results were  predictable, seeming this website caters for  Bolton fans.

  1. £10m – 39%
  2. £15m – 25%
  3. £20m or more – 21%
  4. Athletico were right, £6m – 11%
  5. No more than what we paid Liverpool (£3m?) – 4%

An overwhelming 85% said that the evidently popular Bolton striker was worth in excess of £10,000,000.

From this we can conclude that Wanderers’ fans think that Dioufy is worth keeping and  despite what Big Sam says to sell Diouf would possibly spell disaster for the club, no matter how much was added to the summer signing kitty.

Keep Dioufy at The Reebok is the message.

A Better Coloured Short?

Okay so The Wanderers did not perform too well today at Old Trafford but it was nice to them play in traditional blue shorts, as expertly modeled by Nicky Hunt below:
