Okocha Becomes a Tiger
Former Bolton Wanderers midfielder Jay-Jay Okocha has signed for Hull City were he meets up with another bygone Trotter, now Tiger’s manager Phil Brown.

Tigers! Tigers! Tigers!
The Nigerian watched Hull City loose to Blackpool last night [Monday] at Bloomfield Road. Obviously inspired by the match JJ signed this morning and at the press conference afterwards said:
“I’m very pleased to be here.
“I see a lot of similarities between Hull and Bolton. In terms of the infrastructure, it is very similar to when I first joined Bolton and hopefully I will be as successful here as I was at Bolton, if not more so.
“The stadium is fantastic and I can’t wait to play in front of the fans. I have missed playing good football in good atmospheres, but this place is set for that.”
“I’m looking to bring more experience to this football club. I want to help let the players know that nothing is impossible and that we can achieve a lot of success.I’ve been very impressed with what I’ve seen in the last two games. We look like a very solid team and it made me realise that I have made the right decision.”
Okocha left Bolton Wanderers last year after four successful years to join Qatar SC (nice weather and good money I suppose) having already retired from international football. During his international career Jay-Jay participated in three World Cups and helped Nigeria win Olympic gold in 1996 in Atlanta by scoring against Japan and Mexico.
Jay-Jay was a popular player during his time with The Wanderers I am sure he will be at The KC Stadium. I’d like to wish him good luck and a successful season with Hull City, although I would rather see Blackpool in the Championship next year.

Phil left The Reebok in June, 2005
