Megson Hoping to Sign Two More Midfielders for Bolton Wanderers
Bolton Wanderers are reported to be making a double midfield swoop for Aurélien Capoue and Miguel Ángel Angulo.
The French 27 year old, Aurélien Capoue, was almost certainly going to Blackburn Rovers, on loan from Nantes for a season. Now it looks like Bolton’s manager, Gary Megson is in direct competition with former Bolton boss, Sam Allardyce. However, Megson may have left it too late as Capoue was due at Ewood Park today (August 11).
Capoue played 23 times for Nantes last season, scored twice, assisted twice and was awarded 8 yellow cards.
Meanwhile Spanish 32 year old, Miguel Ángel Angulo, is thought to be Megson’s second choice over Ferrie Bodde. There has been no news of the outcome of the £3m offer made for Bodde.
Angulo, is trying to negotiate a move away from his current club Valencia after over a decade of service. This could lead to the attacking midfielder being a free transfer, if he can persuade his club to release him from his contract that lasts another 3 years.
Update: Aug 11, 2009 (2:47pm)
Modeste M’bami is another midfielder that may be signed by The Trotters. Rejected by Portsmouth after a trial and currently on trial with Wolverhampton Wanderers, the former Marseille player is free to sign and Megson is said to have shown interest in the player.
Hopefully we will hear more news about these signings by the end of the week. However, Megson was supposed to be bringing a new striker to Bolton Wanderers, but no names have been mentioned as yet.
Speculate about which striker Megson will sign in the comments if thee like.
