Vaz Te to be Megson’s New Striker?
BWFC24 Exposes Megson’s New Striker Scam
Gary Megson is thought to have been relieved that Ricardo Vaz Te decided to remain at Bolton as it would have put an end to Gary’s ‘new striker scam’.
Vaz Te explained to Sky Sports that he has declined an offer from Turkish club Gaziantepspor;
“It is true I had an offer from Gaziantepspor in Turkey, but in the end I rejected the offer. I went over to Turkey for talks with the club and everyone there was really nice to me and I was overwhelmed by the reaction towards me.
“I passed a medical and they made me a good offer, but at this point in my career I did not think it was the right move for me.”
Poor Ricardo, ‘overwhelmed’ by kindness — obviously an indication that Megson has ignored the talented striker in recent weeks.
Ricardo also confirms that he is uncertain of his future with Bolton Wanderers and is open to offers but would prefer to remain in England. Unfortunately, while Megson has spoken about the need for a new striker he has not spoke about his plans for Vaz Te, maybe there is a reason for this.
Vaz Te has been out of action for a lamentable amount of time due to a severe cruciate ligament injury — ugh, knee injuries always make me shudder. Megson is convinced that proud Bolton supporters have forgotten about the young Portuguese striker. However, Vaz Te is back training with the rest of the Bolton squad and expects to be match fit in a couple of weeks. At that point it is expected that Bolton manager Megson will announce that Ricardo Vaz Te is the ‘new’ striker that he has been tracking.
Even this season’s BWFC Official Yearbook hints towards Megson’s new striker scam saying of Vaz Te;
“…his return will be akin to Gary Megson making a new signing.”
There you have it the perfect new striker for Bolton — he’s already at the club and won’t cost a penny more which in turn should keep chariman Phil Gartside and The Board happy.
To be fair someone at the club ought to tell Ricardo about this new striker scam before he ends up elsewhere, I’m sure he will understand the need for secrecy and give him hope.
