Use of Cookies
We do not use ‘cookies’ to store or collect personal information.
Cookies are used if you are logged on as a registered user of bwfc24.co.uk until you log-out, and may be used when non-registered users leave comments.
If there is a poll on BWFC24 (found at the top of the homepage) then a cookie is used to determine if the reader has cast a vote. If so the current poll results are shown instead of the voting system. A new cookie is used for each poll and will expire and be deleated from your system after
Cookies are also used by some of the advertising links to keep information about which advert you selected and from which website. This information is only held for a short term (usually less than 90 days) and the information they contain is encrypted.
Cookies may also be used for collecting data about which web pages have been visited and to track which links are used to exit the BWFC24 website (for example: advertiser links or links to other third party websites), but at the time of writing this use of cookies has not been implemented.
What is a Cookie?
A cookie is a piece of information in the form of a very small text file that is placed on an internet user’s hard drive. It is generated by a web page server, which is basically the computer that operates a web site. The information the cookie contains is set by the server and it can be used by that server whenever the user visits the site. A cookie can be thought of as an internet user’s identification card, which tell a web site when the user has returned.
