Tope Obadeyi Gone For Good?

Tope in action for The RobinsYou may have read that Tope has signed for one more month, which means he will remain a Robin until October 13, 2009. So far Tope has participated in 7 matches so far and scored twice.

However, the official Swindon Town website no longer states that he is on loan from Bolton and gives Bolton as his ‘previous club’. Furthermore, while his profile page still exists on BWFC’s official website there is not a link nor any mention of Temitope on the list of squad members.

Gone but not soon forgotten

It is customary for official football club websites to state which players are on loan (from or to). Bolton’s website still states that Paul Robinson is ‘on loan from WBA’, and you can guess what it says on West Bromwich Albion’s website. This is a bad example as Paul will become a full–time Wanderer and the loan deal is just a tax dodging tactic.

Tope Obadeyi is Swindon Town’s Secret for Success

BWFC Striker Tope ObadeyiBefore it was announced officially that Temitope Obadeyi was to join Swindon Town on load Danny Wilson was trying to keep the identity of the player under wraps. He spoke highly of an undisclosed striker;

“We will have a player in by Saturday. I am 99 percent sure that something will happen before the weekend. He is coming from a Premier League club and it would be a big boost for us.

“We have had the player watched on many occasions and we feel he could make a big contribution to the squad.

“It would be a loan deal for an initial month. The player has played a lot of pre-season games and he played earlier this week and came through unscathed, which is great from our point of view. He needs first team experience and the club think very highly of him.”

Danny gave no clues to whom it might be but it is Bolton’s 19-year-old striker, Tope Obadeyi, which is great news for the youngster as he will get much needed match experience with The Robins. Although it is just a month to begin with it is likely that Tope will have his stay at The County Ground extended. Megson told the official BWFC website;

“At this moment in time, Tope needs regular first team football to aid his development which we feel he will get at Swindon Town.”

Good luck with The Robins Tope.
